Setup instructions
- Download LAD using the download button above.
- Windows Security Warnings: When you download the file, you may see security warnings from Microsoft Defender SmartScreen or your browser. This is normal for new software that hasn't been widely distributed yet.
- If your browser shows a warning, click "Keep" or "Keep anyway" to proceed. You may need to right-click on the download warning to see these options.
- If Windows Defender SmartScreen appears, click "More info" and then "Run anyway" to continue.
- If you see "Windows protected your PC", click "Run anyway" (you may need to click the dropdown arrow next to "Don't run" to see this option).
- User Account Control: When you run the installer, Windows may ask "Do you want to allow this app from an unknown publisher to make changes to your device?" Click "Yes" to proceed with the installation.
- Data Collection Policy: During installation, you'll see the data collection policy screen. Read through the policy and click the "Acknowledged" button once you've reviewed it.
- Follow the remaining installer prompts to complete the installation.
- Launch SolidWorks and open any part or assembly file.
- In SolidWorks, locate the LAD add-in. You may need to enable it by going to Tools → Add-Ins and checking "LAD" if it's not already visible.
- The LAD icon (labeled "AI") should appear in the right-side pane in SolidWorks once it's enabled. Click the icon to open the LAD pane and begin using the AI assistant.
- Sign in or sign up when prompted. If needed, you can use an API key from your account page.
- Type your design requests in the LAD conversation pane.
